Meet the Production Team

Joya Shahin | Owner & Artistic Director

Joya Shahin has a passion for providing accessible, faith-based theater arts programs for students of all ages and backgrounds. She has been involved in theater arts since 2017, and founded Nightingale Youth Theater in 2022 to provide a nurturing space for students of all backgrounds to develop their performance skills within a Christ-centered context. Joya has 8 years of experience teaching students of all ages, and truly loves seeing her students thrive onstage, develop edifying relationships with one another, and grow in their relationships with Christ.

Kayleigh Hopkins | Owner & Choreographer

Kayleigh has been training in dance since 2007 and began participating in musical theater in middle school. After teaching neighborhood children for several years, she began teaching dance at a school in 2020. Since the founding of Nightingale Youth Theater, she has choreographed musical theater productions and taught the past three sessions of Nightingale dance classes. Being part of this community has deepened her faith in the Lord, and her ultimate hope is that each student will also be profoundly impacted by this program.
