To prepare for auditions with Nightingale Youth Theater, use the information and tips below.
Audition Information & Tips
- All students who audition will be cast in NYT productions.
- CALLBACKS: If the production staff would like to see a student perform lines and/or songs for a specific character, they will receive a callback notice via email. The email will contain performance material for that character. Those who receive a notice will be expected to return on the scheduled callback date (See your rehearsal calendar) at their given time slot(s).
- Each student will individually audition in front of the production staff.
- Audition time slots range from 1.5-3 hours. (See your rehearsal calendar) Each student will need to stay for the full time.
- If you make a mistake, don’t worry about it! Remember that others may not even notice a mistake.
- Finally, present a good attitude and be a good sport. Accept any part you are offered as an opportunity to learn and grow.
